Guneet Puri

Guneet Puri, from Uttarakhand, has a lifelong passion for the wilderness. At six, she began trekking the high altitude terrains of her homeland, shaping her future as an outdoor enthusiast. She started climbing in 2008 and in 2013, she became a full-time mountaineer and mountain guide. She co-founded Bohemian Adventures LLP, has climbed and guided over 20 peaks over 6000mtrs and 100s of treks in the Indian Himalaya. She has also done a Training of Trainers course from Outward Bound Romania and a 21 Days Classic Challenge Course from Outward Bound Singapore that includes facilitation and technical skills in Sailing and Kayaking.

Guneet has been part of two rescue and relief operations. In Uttarkhand in 2013 during and after the floods as she was climbing in the region and survived to tell the tale of the massive destruction. She also volunteered to aid in the Kashmir floods of 2014.

  • Mt Draupadi Ka Danda with her advance course in 2009
  • Mt Rudugheira in 2010 and made a second successful attempt on it in 2013.
  • She also attempted Mt Thelu in 2013 (had to abandon this expedition from Summit Camp due to the June cloud burst) and successfully summitted the same in 2016.
  • Mt Bhagirathi II (6512m) in 2015
  • Mt Gangotri III (6577m) in 2017
  • Mt Nanda Ghunti (6309m) in 2018 of which she was the leader.
  • Guneet and team summited nine peaks on Menthok Kangri in August 2019, setting a record with seven climbs above 6000m and two above 5000m in nine days. Two 6000m peaks were climbed in under 12 hours, earning a spot in the Asia Book of Records.
