About the Trek

Dayara Bugyal is located in the Uttarkashi District of Uttarakhand. Being a high altitude meadow it can be approached from several routes. We prefer the trail from the village of Barsu as it is less crowded and gives you a more peaceful trekking experience. We take a relaxed approach to this trek and walk only 3-4 hours per day between camps. On the last day on the meadow we encourage an exploratory attitude rather than focusing on reaching a fixed point. One is free to walk as far, as high as they choose, one could also just find a scenic spot with a view and admire the vista over a picnic. This makes this trek ideal for older adults, beginners, people trying their first multi-day trek in the Himalaya and high altitude; also for families or parents who want to introduce their children to the outdoors and trekking.
